Over the holidays, me and my close friend are collaborating to start a little line of clothes just for fun, however, first we will be locking down the second week of these holidays (since I will be back home then) to come up with designs and start right away – sewing our little hearts away whilst listenin’ and singin’ along to some tunes to keep us sane as the coffee and tea wears off.

We have already come to the conclusion that we will be selling at markets to make extra money to pay tha billzz and jayzz. I’m overly excited to start – most of the materials have been decided upon and as well as alot of the pricing. Designs desperately need to be sketched though, but fuck it, we will get around to it soon enough!

Jesus Christ, I’ve been listening to way too much ‘White Lies’ thanks to Tom – they are constantly being played on my ipod now. I’m tired, i’m tired, i’m tired, and i’m saving up to go to Melbourne again oh deary, deary! This whole blog was pretty much a waste of space, but I cannot wait to get all my designs sketched and ready ugh!

Weekend Wars

So! It’s been awhile since I last posted a blog of any sort… I am aware, but i’m not sorry. The last week or so has been really busy, and I just don’t have the time! The King of pop died, and I don’t care how many times this has been said but fuck no matter how much shit has been put on Michael Jackson from the media, he is still the most talented person and it is truly a shame for us to lose such a good soul, an actual caring person – who despite his world wide fame still managed to take time out from his busy schedule to help various charities all around the world.

Not long ago, I saw Transformers 2 in Gold Class with Jourdan. Gold class – ruled, the movie however, sucked. Graphics, action scenes, and everything, not the best. Going to see ‘The Hangover’ tonight with Lucy-roo… despite being overly tired.

I bought a new camera last weekend, i’m excited to start shooting with film! The vegan bake sale was so yum yum yum in Newtown as well. Overall, there is only one week left standing between me and the holidays, am I excited? Yes, you’ve got it right. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!! Also, i’m setting up a surround sound system in my room, why? I don’t really know haha. I bought have a new mixer, and i’m ready to try it out once I buy a new needle for my turntables… ugh, so much to do, so little time!

The Avengers V.s Justice League America

The classic comic-book rivalry, Marvel and D.C, have both announced their feature films to be on cinema screens from 2010-2013, both casting the spots of many notable characters from each comic company. I am very excited to see the final product! I plan on updating the post quite frequently as I learn more about these two very anticipated films!

Also, I recently found a few “The amazing spiderman” comics which fit perfectly into my mid 80′s collection at a second hand book store.. I have to keep an eye out for more!

I was on the bored of studies website, just having a look around.. and I stumbled across a post by a year 9 student who was talking about scaling, and how they could acheive band 6′s and what subjects would allow them to do so. I found this so amusing… why the fuck would a year 9 student want to know this stuff for… they pretty much just hit puberty, they do not need this shit laid on them. Looks like this young student will have a fun time in year 11 when they realise 4unit maths fucking sucks… as a matter of fact, all extension classes suck

I wish I didn’t have the worries of scaling… life would be so good without it.

The year was 1908… Marquis M. Converse back in Massachusetts first opened the Converse Rubber Shoe Company (or the Boston Rubber Shoe Company for all you Americans). The Converse shoe would soon emerge through the market, selling to women, men and children all over the world. Although Converse lost much of it’s apparent near-monolopy from the 70′s onwards due to the surge of new rivals (Nike and Adidas), they still continued to please.
Whether you call them “Cons”, “Connies”, “Convics”, “Verses”, “Chuckers”, “Chucks”, “Converse”, “Chuckies”, “Chuckie T’s”, they are still one of the best fucking shoes around. I may not have a collection as varied or large as that of Joshua Mueller, the Guinness Book of World Records holder for having the largest collection of converse shoes, but jesus-christ, that guy is just a freak…. Long live canvas shoes!

Romance Was Born

The design duo Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales have risen to the high standards of the Australian fashion industry, taking it by storm with their craffty construction, fine tailoring and sentimental touch, creating garments with their techinal pattern-making wizardry, resulting in collections that are irreverent and fun loving, with use of fabrics and colours which combined, inspire the distinct and known playful look where sparkles, texture, and bold prints jostle together in a harmonious jamboree of style, which ‘Romance Was Born’ brings to the table.

Whether it be tie-dying, crochet or appliqué, Anna and Luke set their collections apart from the rest, mixing current trends with their own sense of style. Definately be on the look out for their new collection, ‘Cat’s Alley’ which follows their more known collection ‘Weird Science’ which was paraded down the runway on the backs of girls who do not seem to eat, at the Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, inspired by the 1980′s film ‘Weird Science’.

Their distinctive style has lead to their current state of success, but as we know, this is only the start… there is much to come from this brand, especially with their ‘Art to wear’ attitude. Romance Was Born is definately one of my current favourite Australian brands as of late, and I cannot get enough of their one off creations (Lucky Karen O for getting one made especially for her!) and digitally printed fabrics, thanks to their collaboration with another Australian, Artist Del Kathryn Barton, taking their designs to the next level.

Be on the watch for ‘Romance Was Born’, I gaurentee it will be worth it!

All-time favourite film

Not really… just one of the many films on my approved movie list.. Although this film is classified as being a ‘Romantic Comedy’, it really is not. It will make you cry, I assure you it will. Funny? Not the slightest.. And I know funny! (And I have to say, American-Comedy takes the cake… the cake with the icing and cherries on top too!)

The movement’s not dead

On another note, I am proud to say I have finally attended an animal rights protest. It was held on the 10th of May (and yes, that was Mothers Day, sorry mum!), and was definately a defining moment of my youth.
2.5 million animals have died during live exports from Australia since it started 30 years ago. In the last annual count there were 35,425 that perished. And we all know these are long lingering deaths. It is Australia’s shame! The whole protest came about due to the disgust which these figures bring, and since there was an International Conference on animal transport which included the live export industry and related government departments at The Marriott Hotel, Sydney Harbour, commencing the protest on that sunday was very strategic in the sense that our voices would be heard.

Simply, the goal was to protest for two hours in front of the hotel where the participants were drinking champagne and nibbled on hors d’oeuvres. We needed to embarrass the perpetrators of this barbaric industry while the world is watching them, while they were before the international monitors and companies, which, to date, have been deceived and kept in the dark about this cruel industry.
It was very inspiring to see how many people actually got involved, which was, roughly, 180 people all joining in, being a strong voice for the defenseless, the abused.

It has definately been a while since I last posted anything, I just have not had the time on my hands… Between the piles of homework I recieve from school, attending work, and actually trying to have a social life, there isn’t much time left to spare. For instance, at the moment I have eight assignments, EIGHT! Three of which being major… it really does suck. Over the past few weeks I have had the pleasure of seeing Have Heart on their final Australian tour, along with Carpathian, Persist and Your Ghost Is A Gift, aswell as seeing The Getaway Plan at the roundhouse with Elora Danan and Amity Affliction for The Getaway Plans Last show, and I must say, I was quite disappointed, especially in comparison to seeing Have Heart playing at St Ives.

Going back even further, I had a picnic with some of my closest friends to celebrate becoming a year older and got accepted into the UBS finance and banking academy… Which I am overly happy about, however, banking and finance is not my forte!

I’m extremly tired, and I have had such a good weekend… And to ruin it all, I have work tonight, but on the contrary, I will receive double time in wages! I guess that is something to look forward too…
